When I began the Newfoundland Brides Local Wedding Planning group, I was expecting to chat with other brides, get some ideas, and get feedback on local shops and wedding professionals. I never ever expected to make a lifelong friend!
I had seen Stacy around the group, commenting and chatting about her wedding plans, when one day, she messaged me completely out of the blue. She already had a photographer, but loved my work, and was hoping that I’d photograph her and her girls getting ready. It was especially important to document as many moments as possible, because of her incredibly deep bond with her sister Samantha. At age 21, Sammi has battled neuroblastoma, and she is currently in remission!! 🙂 (Go Sammi!) Also an amazing painter, you can find her work at Sammi’s Abstract Paintings.
It was so different shooting a friend’s special day. I walked up to the doors of The Capital, and my heart was beating so fast. I was nervous! Everything was perfect, and Stacy and Chris had the most incredible wedding day. I feel so blessed to have been a part of it. I admittedly couldn’t hold myself together for some of the speeches! 😉
I never though that a Facebook group would change my life the way it did! Over the months leading up to her wedding, we chatted almost every day. We are both ridiculous night-owls, sometimes messaging each other at 3am. I now count Stacy as one of my closest friends!
